Police Officer Minimum Requirements:

• $32.00 non-refundable application fee
• U.S. Citizenship
• Valid Driver’s License
• High School graduate or GED, (Associate’s Degree in Law Enforcement, Criminal Justice) or Bachelor’s Degree in any field preferred
• Military experience a plus
• No felony convictions
• 21 to under 35 years of age by date of the written exam unless otherwise exempt by Statute
• POWER test card dated within six months of the application deadline
• Residency required within DuPage County or counties contiguous to DuPage County by the end of 18-month probationary period 

Orientation & Testing Information:

Due to the stay-at-home order, your exam will be offered electronically and you will take the exam in your own home! There will be multiple sessions offered and each will be proctored virtually. All sessions will be offered during business hours the week of December 7th – it is your responsibility to ensure you have the flexibility to test during these times.

In late November you will receive an email with instructions on how to schedule and prepare for the exam. Please read through the instructions carefully before your exam date. Failure to follow the steps outlined may cause the electronic exam to not work properly, potentially resulting in your removal from the testing session.
