Salary:

• Starting: $62,085 - $71,884, dependent on qualifications and experience

The Crete Police Department is actively seeking Experienced Police Officers for Lateral Entry

The Village of Crete Police Department, a progressive south suburban town, is looking for the best candidates available to fill future positions as lateral entry police officers. The Village of Crete is located within Will County, approximately 25 miles from Chicago.  The police department is planning for growth as new commercial and industrial business locate to the Village.

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications:

Applicants must meet the following minimum qualifications & requirements at the time of application:

• State of Illinois certification by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board (Part-time certification as a law enforcement officer does not meet this requirement)
• United States citizen
• Individuals must be at least 21 years old
• Education - High school education or equivalent thereof
• Experience - at least 2 of the last 3 years of consecutive full time sworn service
• Valid Driver's License
• Must live within 25 mile radius of Village Hall upon completion of probation period

• Character and background investigation and credit check
• Post-offer examinations may include:
• Psychological evaluation
• Medical examination
• Vision screening
• Drug screening
