Paramedic (Full-Time and Part-Time)

The Bensenville Fire Protection District #2 is currently seeking qualified individuals for the position of permanent Full-time and Part-time Paramedic.

Paramedics hired are assured of at least 10/24-hour duty shifts!!!

Candidates must:

• Be at least 21 years of age
• Have high school diploma or GED
• Be willing to attend and pass BFPD certified Firefighter Basic Operations program with the Illinois Office of the State Fire Marshall; Attendance will be at a reduced tuition rate
• Be IDPH licensed EMT-P with ability to test into Loyola EMS system
• Have current CPAT and Ladder; Will assist with the training for the CPAT certification
• Have valid Illinois Driver's License
• Not have felony convictions 

Job Description:

• Candidates will be responsible for district ambulances
• Candidates will be responsible for patient care and completing all necessary patient care report forms
• Candidates will perform exterior structural firefighting operations as taught in orientation
• Candidates will be required to become familiar with district vehicles, operations, and Loyola SOPs
• Work as part of the Districts Pub Education Program
• Candidates will report to the Battalion Chief while on duty
• Other duties as assigned 

Benefits:

• Starting pay is $15.40 per hour with an annual salary increase in January of every year
• Candidates will/can work at least ten 24-hour shifts, which will be filled by a shift bidding; If not able to work 24-hour shifts, 8 and 12-hours shifts are also available 
• Specialty certifications qualify for stipends after completion of 3 years of service
