The Villa Park Police Department is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Part-Time Evidence Custodian. This part-time position will perform duties in a non-sworn capacity operating within the station and in the field. The Evidence Custodian is responsible for processing and handling all property and evidence received by the police department.
Benefits:
$25.70 starting pay - based on experience
20 hours per week
Primary Duties Include:
Property and evidence management.
Responsible for receiving, transferring, storing and destroying property in a proper manner.
Transports evidence to and from the crime lab and other locations.
Prepares evidence for court proceedings; maintains receipts to preserve chain of custody; prevents contamination and preserves the integrity of evidence.
Maintains a digital property management and barcode system (BEAST).
Candidate Requirements:
Must be detail oriented with multi-tasking capabilities and organizational skills.
Must have excellent computer skills and communication skills.
Must have a valid Illinois Driver’s License.
Must pass a criminal background check.
Law Enforcement or Evidence Custodian Experience is preferred
