Position Details

The New Lenox Police Department is seeking experienced police officers to join our team.

The Village of New Lenox is a growing community consisting of approximately 16 square miles. It is located in Will County, approximately 36 miles southwest of Chicago. New Lenox has a population of 28,000 residents.

The mission of the New Lenox Police Department is to affirmatively promote a feeling of safety and security to the members of their community in a manner that complies with the legal and professional standards established for the law enforcement profession.

Patrol Shifts are 12 hours.

You must meet the following minimum requirements:

• Must be a U.S. Citizen, at least 23 years old, and possess a valid driver's license.
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and have completed a minimum of 30 semester credit hours at an accredited university or college.
• Must have normal peripheral vision and vision must be correctable to a minimum of 20/40.
• Must pass background investigation, oral, psychological, polygraph, and medical examinations.
• Must have at least two years continuous experience as a full-time sworn, certified law enforcement officer in Illinois and in good standing with current department. There are no exceptions to this requirement.
• Must be able to furnish upon request, a copy of the following professional licenses, training certificates, documents confirming work experience, birth certificate, diplomas, transcripts, and any other employment related material as requested.
